Ciao a tutti,  
                    in questa news faccio un riassunto della mia vacanza - dx-pedition ad Halaveli
Island. L'arrivo all'isola con l'idrovolante é stato molto spettacolare; la varietà del blu del
mare con il verde intenso dell'isola, separati dal bianco intenso della spiaggia, é una emozione
incredibile.  
Il resort é molto accogliente e i bungalow, sistemati all'interno della vegetazione e a pochi
passi dal mare, sono  molto spaziosi. La ristorazione é molto buona e variata; con molte
specialità di pesce. Ho iniziato la mia attività radio il giorno stesso del nostro arrivo, 
piazzando l'antenna verticale tra le piante, perché la presa di corrente nel bungalow non mi
permetteva di mettere la radio all'entrata.
Da subito mi sono accorto che avevo problemi di tensione, perché la potenza della radio era
solamente di 60 -70 watt. La corrente viene prodotta con un generatore che serve per tutte le
apparecchiature dell'isola.  
Inoltre anche la postazione dell'antenna non era buona perché le piante non permettevano una 
buona trasmissione.  
Per poter mettere l'antenna in una posizione migliore, ho dovuto chiamare l'elettricista del
resort, per farmi preparare una prolunga di corrente, cosi ho potuto spostarla anche in 
funzione della lunghezza del cavo coassiale di 20 metri.  
Da questa postazione ho potuto finalmente aumentare i miei collegamenti, anche se non era 
ancora quanto speravo.  
Due giorni prima della partenza ho deciso di spostare la stazione sotto le piante per poter
mettere l'antenna il piu' vicino possibile al mare. Ho chiamato l'elettricista che mi ha 
preparato un cavo di corrente di 20 metri e, in questo modo, anche se potevo trasmettere solo
durante il giorno, ho potuto fare la maggior parte dei QSO della mia dx-pedition.  
Per concludere, devo dire che per la mia prima dx-pedition é stata un bella esperienza, e
nonostante le difficoltà incontrate, sono molto contento.

Hi to everybody,  
                  in this news I make a summary of my vacation - dx-pedition to Halaveli Island.  
The arrival to the island with the hydroplane has been very spectacular; the variety of the blue
one of the sea with the intense green of the island, separated by the intense white of the beach,
it is an unbelievable emotion.  
The resort is very pleasant and the bungalows, systematized inside the vegetation and to few 
footsteps by the sea, they are very spacious.  
The restaurant is very good and varied; with a lot of specialties of fish.  
I have begun my activity radio the same day of our arrival, placing the vertical spar among the
plants, because the taking of tide in the bungalow didn't allow me to put the radio to the 
entrance.  
From I have immediately realized that I had problems of tension, because the power of the radio
was only of 60 -70 watts. The tide is produced with a generator that serves for all the equipments
of the island.  
Besides also the posting of the spar was not good because the plants didn't allow a good 
transmission.  
To be able to put the spar in a best position, has had to call the electrician of the resort, to
make to prepare me one prolongs of tide, so I have been able to also move her/it in operation of
the length of the coaxial cable of 20 meters.  
From this posting I have been able to finally increase my connections, even if it was not yet how
much I hoped.  
Two days before departing I have decided to move the station under the plants to be able to put
the spar the more' possible neighbor to the sea. I have called the electrician that a cable of
tide of 20 meters has prepared me and, in this way, even if I could transmit only during the 
day, I have been able to make the most greater part of the QSOs of my dx-pedition.  
To conclude, has to say that for my first dx-pedition you/he/she has been a beautiful experience,
and despite the met difficulties, I am very happy.
